Description:
Within this data set, the German highway system is represented as highway sections (edges) and junctions (nodes). It contains the main component of the system, i.e. fractions of highways not directly connected to other highways have been deleted. Edge weight represents average traffic strength (in 1000 vehicles per day). In time bracket the official highway number of the edges are stored.
Possible research questions:
How do travel distances change in case of traffic jams? Where would be an effective construction area, so that the national and regional traffic system benefits the most?
